Diamond Cellar Adds Sparkle to VIP Experience at Capital City Half Marathon

Largest Family-Owned Jewelry Store Joins Cotter's Restaurant, Skyy Vodka

COLUMBUS, OH (April 1, 2010) — While a record field of 10,000 runners and walkers will take to the streets of Columbus on May 1 in the 7th annual Capital City Half Marathon and Commit to be Fit 5K, for several hundred participants the day will be even more rewarding thanks to the Diamond Cellar VIP Experience.

The Diamond Cellar VIP Experience offers those who want to upgrade an exclusive packet pick-up opportunity at the jeweler's Sawmill Road store, one-of-a-kind race commemorative and other unique benefits — including exclusive apparel. Now in its second year, the VIP upgrade is available for an additional $40 over race entry fees. It includes breakfast and lunch at Cotters Restaurant, a half-zip pullover, preferred parking and access to private restrooms. This upgrade is limited to the first 250 to register.

"Diamond Cellar is a partner whose name alone speaks volumes about quality, excellence and value. In partnership with the Diamond Cellar, we will continue to deliver a superior event experience for our runners and walkers, said Race Director David Babner."

"It is exciting to be part of an event that has grown so quickly in central Ohio," said Andy Johnson, CEO of the Diamond Cellar. "The Diamond Cellar itself has a strong and growing group of runners and walkers among our employees and we're proud to support an event that affects the health and fitness of our community in such a positive way."

CapCity runners and walkers are given a warrior's send off and a hero's welcome at the start/ finish line. All participants will receive a finisher's medal and fresh, hot Donatos Pizza after crossing the finish line. The post-race party is being held on McFerson Commons, where there will be food, music, beverages, vendors, charitable partners and more.
