Rules of the Road
Please note that the course will remain open for four (4) hours, thus the course will close on a continuous pace of 18:19 minutes per mile.
Anyone who cannot maintain the 18:19-minute-per-mile pace must move to the sidewalks as the course closes to allow regular vehicular traffic through.
The following are NOT permitted in the Half Marathon & 5k:
Coaches, pets, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades, baby joggers, or any other types of
vehicles (other than official vehicles). These regulations are for your safety and the safety of the other participants in the race.
Please do not bring or carry any of these items with you.
The Staff of the Capital City Half Marathon reserves the right to disqualify participants who have any of the above items.
Runner Bibs
- All registered participants will receive a bib number that must be worn on race day. Please do not alter the bib in any way.
- The bib must be visible and worn on the front outside of all clothing during the entire race.
- Bib numbers are non-transferable. Each bib must be worn by the registrant to whom it has been assigned.

Chip Timing Requirements
We are using Disposable Chips this year. The D-Tag is a disposable, lighter tag that athletes peel off of their bib and easily attach to their shoe to
record their time. Tag time is the most accurate form of timing available because it measures the exact time between an athlete crossing the start
line and the finish line. In addition, the new timing system will eliminate pre-race chip assignment, post-race chip return, and fees for lost or
unreturned chips, allowing athletes to focus more on their competition and less on the timing mechanism. That's right, no clipping, $30 charges, etc.
Just put them on, run, get great results and throw them away. However, we do ask that you follow the
instructions.
You can also watch a video of the new chip on YouTube: click here.
- Do not forget your chip on race day. Without a chip, you will not receive a time!
- Chips are non-transferable. Each chip must be worn only by the participant to whom it is assigned.
- Do not cross the finish line more than once.
