Capital City Corporate Challenge

What's the Challenge?
John Bingham Racing and The Ohio Wellness Leaders have partnered together to produce The Capital City Corporate
Challenge. This is a team event for businesses designed to help build teamwork across departments and promote fitness
within the workplace. Runners and walkers compete inside the already existing Capital City Half Marathon and Commit to
Be Fit 5k, while representing their business team. *Running clubs, running stores and gyms are also welcome and
encouraged to participate.
Partnership Purpose
The Ohio Wellness Leaders have partnered with the event to showcase that running and walking promotes a healthy
lifestyle, which in turn creates healthier employees who rely less on health insurance and helps control the bottom line.
It is a great way to boost company spirit and a fun way for employees to interact outside the office.
Community Engagement with a Competitive Edge!
The Capital City Corporate Challenge will support and encourage the community to participate in the active healthy
lifestyle. The event is uniquely positioned to support those new to fitness who are taking control over their lives by
celebrating and rewarding their effort and participation. We will also celebrate the competitive excellence of those
more experienced athletes.
Select the Event
- Capital City Half-Marathon — training starts 1/5/08
- Commit to Be Fit 5K — training starts 2/2/08
Participation + Competition = Celebration!
Prizes and Awards may be based on: a) number of participants on each team, b) fastest times of a select number
of teammates 3 to 5 and c) total fundraising.
Participation — Total employees. Whether you have a handful of employees or hundreds, every
company can be part of the action!
- Small Company Division: 99 or less employees
- Medium Company Division: 100–999 employees
- Large Company Division: 1000+ employees
- City Division: Includes City, County and Municipal employees
The winning team in each category will receive the "Ohio Wellness Leaders Corporate Challenge Trophy" to
display at their place of business until next year.
Competition — Fastest Combined Times of 5 Team Members — Additional prizes to be awarded
to Men's, Women's and Coed (at least two from each gender) teams with the fastest 5 team members to score. The five
fastest will be taken directly from the total team results and will not discourage anyone from participating.
